An Open Letter to One Nation, Under God

I understand your frustration.
I see the despair through your Facebook posts.
I feel the hurt through your tweets.
I hear the sadness in your voices.
But I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
— John 8:12

I was raised to believe that no matter the outcome of a situation, there's a silver lining. I know that it may seem non-existent or even far-fetched, but I believe that something good can come out of anything. Until it does, I refuse to sit and be bitter.

I believe that everything happens for a reason and that we, as a nation under God have a right. We have the right to pray, believe and hope for the best.
I know many can argue that prayer isn't an option, but prayer is ALWAYS an option for me.
I believe that whatever my God throws at me, I can handle it.
I believe that no matter what hurdle is placed in front of you, you can jump over it.

I believe in you and I believe in me.

So many of us are defining who we are, based off of this election.
You are not the color of your skin. You are not the level of your education. You are not your occupation. You are not defined by your gender.

You are a Child of God.

I need you to understand that your identity is found in Christ and not in another individual. As long as you understand that God has created a life perfect for you and no one else, you will never have to question who you are.

You are a flower in the garden of life. God has already planted his roots in your life, laid out a foundation of soil for you to grow through and all he wants you to do is water it with faith.

Day by day, water your faith and watch yourself grow to find your purpose.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
— Romans 8:28

You are a beautiful depiction of grace, mercy and bliss. You hold the power to determine who you will become in life. You hold the power to eliminate the negative and bring peace amongst yourself. You are capable of reaching for the moon, although we know that the stars is where youll land. You were given this life to leave a mark and you will do just that.

You will not let the outcome of this election determine your happiness.
You will not let the outcome of this election determine your future.
You will not let the outcome of this election jeopardize your faith in humanity.
You will not let the outcome of this election take away your joy.
You will not let the outcome of this election define who you are.

I ask that you Pray.

Pray for your words to be kind.
Pray for your heart to be gentle.
Pray for your Country to be healed.
Pray for your leader.

So I don't care who the next leader is.
I only care that you've forgotten the one that holds the key to your heart.
How could you forget that he's always been the King of the World?

With the upmost grace and love,
Eripitan Osagie-Sule
